Planting to Grazing Field Day, Grafton & Tygalgah
We had a ball at the Planting to Grazing in 4 Weeks Field Days at Grafton and Tygalgah earlier this month.?
We launched our McGregor Gourlay winter pasture blend, which is a mixture of 2 quality types of rye grass. One being a quick-growing tetraploid annual, with a high-quality Italian diploid to give long-term production of dry matter going through to the end of spring if conditions suit.
We also discussed other blends such as the Tri-oomph blend and its benefits, and Thistrol Gold, a new herbicide from Nufarm that has a big fit for the cleanup of winter weeds.
We also explored basic agronomy for the prevention of rust in cereals and launched our rust-resistant oat cultivars for this season.
Another highlight was introducing our technical savvy agronomy team from across our Northern Rivers branches. In a high-tech world, you need the youth plus a little older wisdom to get the most out of your farming enterprise. McGregor Gourlay has the largest agronomy presence of any company on the north coast of NSW, this is something we are very proud of ?
