Congratulations to the winners of the 2022 JA McGregor & Co Shield

A huge year for the Gwydir Shire “Old Yallaroi Shire” Sorghum Competition run by the WARIALDA P&A. McGregor Gourlay has a long association with the competition with it being formalised by the introduction of the JA McGregor & Co. Shield being created in 1973.

2022 was exceptional, with the top 5 crops assessed coming in above 7.8t/ha, well above the normal district average.

First place and the winner of the JA McGregor & Co Shield for 2022 was Peter and Max Davidson’s crop of Resolute, which was estimated to be a huge 8.9t/ha, with spots going over 12t/ha when harvested.
