Accounts Assistant – Group Finance Team
With a history of over 129 years of service, the McGregor Gourlay Agricultural Services team is at the forefront of agriculture, with an outstanding level of experience across a wide range of cropping environments, to assist our customers pioneer production into new areas across the region and maximise the potential of their cropping and livestock operations.
Based at either our Moree or Toowoomba Branches, you will become an important member of our busy and dynamic Finance team.
Key Responsibilities
– Assist with accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and basic queries
-Maintain accurate financial records by updating sales systems and reviewing daily sales reports
-Support treasury tasks such as monitoring bank balances and transactions
-Assist with expense claims and transport-related reporting
-Support month-end processes including reconciliations, journals, and reporting
-Assist with audit preparation and general finance administration
-Provide ad-hoc support to the Finance team as required
About You
-Previous finance or accounting experience is advantageous but not essential
-Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
-Well organised with good time management skills
-Comfortable working with numbers and data
-Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
-Strong communication skills in both written and verbal
-Problem solving mindset with the ability to identify discrepancies and escalate appropriately
-Flexible team player who can work independently and support continuous improvement efforts
Technical Skills
-Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite
-Understanding of accounting principles
-Experience with accounting systems or ERP platforms is an advantage
