Sydney Royal Easter show Champions 2022

Our very own Peter Barratt, Merchandise Sales at Inverell has just finished a very busy 2½ weeks at the Sydney Royal Easter show, where he has been exhibiting at for 46 years.

Peter is excited to announce that a number of our growers have received Champion and Reserve awards for their 2021 crop.

· Reserve Champion Maize Cobs, T. Purcell, Inverell
· Champion Sorghum Heads – Paul Cush, Warialda
· Reserve Champion Sorghum Heads – Peter Burrows, Inverell
· Champion Sorghum Grain – Paul Cush, Warialda
· Reserve Champion Sorghum Grain – Peter Burrows, Inverell
· Reserve Champion Fleece of Wool – Greg Tighe, Wandsworth

Peter himself was most thrilled to also be awarded the Champion of Champions for Service to the RAS (with only a few sashes handed out every year), together with achieving awards for the following categories: Best Bale of Pasture Hay; Best Bale of Lucerne; Best Sheave of Pasture Legume; Best Sheave Pasture Grass; Best Wheaten, Oaten and Lucerne Chaff; Heaviest Melon and Heaviest Gramma!

The Northern Districts were the highest point scorers in grain, hays, grasses and wool which helped win the overall point score with a margin of 182 points!! ?
